Nicky Byrne

Nicholas Bernard James Adam Byrne was born on 9th of October 1978 in Dublin. He is the oldest member of the Irish pop band, Westlife. Before his music career he played professional football and represented Republic of Ireland at several underage levels. Quite amazing, don't you think? Since then he has had a successful international radio career. His wife is the daughter of former Irish Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, and they have twin sons together. Here are some pictures of him with his family, hope you like it.

Shane Steven Filan

Shane Filan was born on July 5th, 1979. He's the lead singer of an Irish pop band called Westlife. Shane is one of the five original Westlife members, along with other current members Kian Egan, Mark Feehily and Nicky Byrne and former member Brian McFadden. Here is a photo of him singing at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert on 2009.

Shane was born on July 5, 1979 to Peter and Mae Filan, and grew up in Sligo, a busy commercial town in the northeast of Ireland. The youngest of seven children, he has three brothers and three sisters, Finbarr, Peter Jr, Yvonne, Liam, Denise and Mairead. His parents owned a diner in Sligo named Carlton Cafe located on Castle Street and Shane used to work there as a waiter from an early age.

He attended Summerhill College, a Catholic school, along with Kian Egan and Mark Feehily. All three of them participated in a school production of Grease when they were about 12. I bet they were damn cute! Lol, I'll try to get my hands on those pictures.

Anyway, next is 'bout his personal life. Shane married his childhood sweetheart, Gillian Walsh on Sunday December 28, 2003at Ballintubber Abbey, followed by a reception at Ashford Castle, Ireland. I wish I was there, but oh well. Gillian gave birth to their first child, a daughter, Nicole Rose, at Sligo General Hospital on 23 July 2005. They soon had a second child, a son, Patrick Michael, was born at Sligo General Hospital on September 15, 2008. On 5 July 2009, Shane annouced that he was having a third child with Gillian and this was none other than a burst of joy from his fans, including me. The third child was named after his boyband father, Shane Peter Filan. He was born at 09:34 PM on Friday January 22nd, 2010.

Introduction - Westlife

Westlife is an Irish group formed on the 3rd of July 1988. The group's original lineup was Mark Feehily, Shane Filan, Kian Egan, Nicky Byrne and Brian McFadden. Although none of them seemed to be playing an instrumental full-time, it has been seen that Egan plays the guitar, and Bryan plays the drum, while Shane and Mark sing the lead vocals.

Westlife's first seven singles were the ever first to go straight to Number 1 in UK History, and they have even gone on to sell 43 million records worldwide. Simply, impressive, huh?

Well, other than their charming appearances, their Songs are out of t
he world,I'm serious. Though they're not as active as they are before, their songs are still played everywhere. This, here, is a list of their best songs that I love:
  1. Raise Me Up
  2. Seasons In The Sun
  3. My Love
  4. Home
  5. Amazing
The song, Raise Me Up is a popular song in the inspirational mould. The music was written by Secret Garden's Rolf Rovland and the lyrics by Brendan Graham. The song has now been covered more than 125 times. Westlife, together with original composer Secret Garden, performed the song at the 2005 Nobel Peace Price concert.

One of my favourites is Amazing, Amazing is Westlife's third single from their Face to Face album. The single is the band's lowest selling single. It peaked at #4 in the UK and quickly fell out of the UK charts. The music video features the band walking around in a vacant office building. It also shows a glimpse of a photocopier machine churning out paper continuously. You should all try listening to this piece, it's really good!
